# DevReverse

**Status: working desktop alpha. Repository visibility: private. No public installer or demo is available.**

DevReverse is a local-first desktop browser and debugging workspace. It combines browsing, element inspection, CSS previews, selected-context questions to a local model, and explicitly saved conversations in a standalone Electron application.

## How it works

- Electron hosts the browser and desktop interface.
- Ollama runs as a separate local service. DevReverse does not download models.
- The user reviews selected page context before sending an assistant prompt.
- Inspection, console capture, network metadata, and saved sessions are separate tools; console capture starts off and saving a conversation is explicit.

## Features documented in the repository

- Basic browsing and page navigation.
- Element and computed-style inspection.
- Session-only live CSS previews that can be compared, copied, or undone.
- Phone and tablet viewport emulation.
- Opt-in console error and warning capture.
- A request timing waterfall and response previews.
- Local-model chat with follow-up context.
- Locally saved sessions that can be reopened, searched, exported, or deleted.

## Planned or limited

Source-code editing, performance analysis, advanced network controls, signed installers, and verified cross-platform release checks are future work. DevReverse is not a replacement for Chrome DevTools and does not edit website source files.
